Soul Salmon Recovery and Repair
In 2005,
the SOTA Soul Salmon statue that resides in Puget Gardens was
stolen. With the help of local media, concerned citizens, and
the Tacoma Police
Department, the Soul Salmon made it back to
us, but in damaged condition. A volunteer has re-attached a
broken fin and one of the original artists is now in the process
of touching up the paint on this unique and beautiful piece of
art.
Once
completed, we will place it back in the Gardens with the help of
Longs Custom Metal Craft, a local company willing to weld it to
its foundation more securely. This project should be completed
by the end of summer 2006.
