PCRS
hopes to study the diversity of wildlife in the area by using
small mammal traps in a transect line set every 20 ft. This will
allow us to document the numbers, species, and locations of
various small mammals in the watershed. By using two different
size traps, we can document very small mammals such as shrews,
voles, and mice, and larger small mammals such as raccoons,
opossums, squirrels, mountain beavers, and more. And of course,
all mammals will be released immediately in the same spot in
which they were caught.
