Internships
PCRS
acknowledges the importance of education in learning about and
attaining training for future jobs, and we are grateful for the
opportunity to work with local
schools from elementary through
college. Experience is another important aspect of preparing for
the highly competitive environmental field. PCRS offers that
experience.
We work
with high school and college students of all abilities. The
students choose which days and times they want to work and what
type of experience they are seeking to gain within the realm of
work that PCRS needs completed. Examples of some activities a
student can participate in include:
√
Office work (administration; volunteer coordination;
research; and composition)
√ Field
work (eradication of invasive plant species; learning
native plants; planting techniques; monitoring techniques;
GPS/GIS; beach monitoring; and crew leadership)
√ Outreach
(staffing booths at fairs; attending meetings in the community)
√ General
Experience (learning all aspects of running a small
local environmental organization)
